AOS Colloquium Series – Spencer Jones

Heat transport in the Atlantic is everywhere northward, and exhibits strong multidecadal variability at some latitudes. It is often of interest to partition the heat transport into two components: the heat transport by the AMOC and the heat transport by the gyres. In this work, I compare three methods for performing this partition, including a new physically-motivated method.
