Description
In 1800 Ireland was a British colony dominated by a small community of well-educated Anglo-Irish Protestant landowners in a land of several million landless, illiterate and quiescent Irish Catholics. One hundred years later, a nationalist Irish Catholic community launched a rebellion that profoundly altered Irish history. This four-part course explores the rise of revolutionary nationalism in Ireland. Tuesdays, Nov. 10-Dec. 1, 7:30-8:45 p.m.
