Description
In this presentation, Blanton and Savranskaya will draw on materials from the National Security Archive, an independent non-governmental organization based at George Washington University. The lecture will use archival materials in order to illuminate significant historical events, including high-level summits between the US and the USSR, the remarkable 1989 revolutions in Eastern Europe, and discussions on NATO expansion that Gorbachev and Yeltsin held with US and European leaders.
