Beets? That once feared childhood vegetable now offers an intriguing opportunity to learn about its lesser known benefits. Professor of horticulture, Irwin Goldman, will guide guests through the history, science and current industry usage behind this notable root crop. A complimentary beet sample will be provided to guests. This lecture is part of the Fall 2009 CALS Lecture Series: Wisconsin’s Best which focuses on Wisconsin food products that are industry leaders in research or production.
