Description

Ever wonder what a career in Cybersecurity would look like? Would it be alerting people to the latest spam email going around? Or would it be like something out of an episode of Mr. Robot? Come find out.

We invite you to attend two Cybersecurity Overview sessions to learn more about our daily operations and how you might create your own path to a cybersecurity career. Whether you attend one or both sessions, you will be challenged to reflect on your strengths and think about how you might leverage them to build a career in cybersecurity. We will also provide career-related resources to help you begin your own cybersecurity journey.

There is more to Cybersecurity and Information Security than anti-phishing campaigns and incident response. In fact, Cybersecurity is the proactive practice of keeping computer systems and networks safe from potential malicious activities, while Information Security is the practice of keeping all kinds of information safe–whether it’s on a computer or not. The UW–Madison Office of Cybersecurity is focused on these practices in all aspects of its daily operation.
