Description
The value of interpersonal trust for magnifying agential power is widely acknowledged. Trusting others allows us to bring about ends that we could not realize on our own. Less remarked upon is trust’s significance for our condition as fragile beings whose flourishing depends on closeness to others. I propose that trusting others is a matter of adopting an “unguarded stance” toward them.
