Madie Mamer, graduate student, Georgia Tech, will explore two regimes of glacier-ocean interactions. First, she will examine the dynamics of a hydrologically active grounding zone—the transition where an ice shelf first goes afloat. Next, she will focus on the role of ocean surface gravity waves in eroding icebergs and fixed ice termini.
