The narrative unfolds through the perspectives of two families—one centered on a Qawwali enthusiast who grew up immersed in the music, influenced by his mother, a Sufi devotee who fondly recalls her experiences listening to Qawwali as a teenager in India; and the other, a lineage of Qawwali singers who have upheld this tradition for 25 generations. The film weaves together live performances of various Qawwalis, the use of secret syllables, and odes from the 13th century.
