Drawing from her new book "Society of the Righteous" (UNC Press, 2024), Dr. Kimberly Wortmann (Wake Forest) explores how Omani-Ibadi Muslims in Tanzania have navigated religious belonging, moral reform, and heritage after empire, tracing ties between East Africa and Oman through scholars, merchants, and institutions shaping Islamic practice and identity.
