Description
After the US Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, it was translated into German. Learn about the first German-language broadsides and newspaper printings, the importance of German printers in Philadelphia, and the different approaches to translation taken in the United States and in Europe. Dr. Emily Sneff is a scholar of early American history and a leading expert on the Declaration of Independence. Pre-registration is required to receive a Zoom link.
