Description
Marc Lynch argues that the United States’ post–Cold War approach to the Middle East has repeatedly failed, as ambitions for leadership and stability instead generated war, instability, and humanitarian disaster. He shows how presidents’ attempts to reshape or exit the region, ignore local views, and sidestep the Palestinian issue doomed policy.
