In honor of the 250th anniversary of American independence, join us for a free public symposium exploring the work of the Freedom Seekers project and the history of Black liberation during the Revolutionary era. The symposium will begin with a catered poster exhibition featuring a complimentary spread of food and beverages. Following this, Prof. Gloria Whiting will deliver a keynote storytelling lecture titled “Freedom Seekers: Declaring Independence from Slavery during the American Revolution.”
