Bang on a Can All-Stars: 90/90

For nearly 40 years, Bang on a Can has been the leading American new music ensemble, freely mixing avant-garde minimalism with pop, rock, and heavy-metal influences, among others. In this concert called 90/90, the group celebrates the 90th birthdays of two of its heroes: game-changers Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Come hear music that inspired a movement in Reich’s  Electric Counterpoint , written for an ensemble of 12 electric guitars and two electric basses, along with Glass’s Glassworks, written with cassettes, home listening, and the Walkman generation in mind.   Program:  Steve Reich: Electric Counterpoint  Philip Glass: Glassworks (arr.
