Description
Starting out 50 years ago as a radical experiment in musical democracy, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra has risen to be the best in class. The player-led, conductorless ensemble puts collaboration at the heart of its “infectious love for making music” ( The New York Times ) and finds a perfect match in rising-star pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, who is equally revered as an unfailingly subtle chamber musician and brilliant soloist in front of an orchestra. Get ready for an elevated experience where poise meets passion as they perform Handel’s Water Music , Hadyn’s aristocratic 91st Symphony, and Mozart’s last piano concerto. Program: Katie Jenkins: New commissioned work Handel: Selections from Water Music Suites 1 & 3 Haydn: Symphony No. 91 in E-flat major, Hob. I:91 Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595
