Description
Based in both Madison and Milwaukee, WI, Henry is a jazz pianist studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In Madison, he is deeply involved in the city's jazz scene while frequently returning to Milwaukee, where his musical roots run deep. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Henry studies with Johannes Wallmann and is actively involved in the jazz program. Having previously studied with Mark Davis, Eric Jacobson, and Devin Drobka, his playing is rooted in tradition while exploring modern harmonic and rhythmic ideas. Henry's style is influenced by Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, and Kenny Barron, while still maintaining a uniquely individual approach to improvisation and composition.
