Description
Discover the inviting world of felted vessels - beautiful, functional pieces that brighten dim corners, gather everyday essentials, or transform into elegant vases for fresh blooms. This beginner-friendly class offers a relaxed, hands-on introduction to wet felting, perfect for anyone curious about the craft. During this 4-hour session, you'll explore the unique qualities of wool, practice simple but effective layout techniques, and learn how to shape a sculptural vessel using a resist. No experience necessary. Complete beginners will feel supported and inspired. Those with some felting experience will find plenty of opportunities to stretch their skills and experiment with form and texture. To join the fun, please bring the following items from home for this class: Four old towels (2 large bath towels, 2 hand-towel size), one kitchen-size plastic bag for taking home wet towels, snacks, coffee, and an apron if you like. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. This class involves standing and upper-body movement and is designed to be both energizing and approachable. Students are encouraged to bring silk remnants or yarn to personalize their vessel. The instructor will review each material and help you determine how to integrate it into your design.
