Description
The oldest form of printmaking, woodcut, has been used for centuries for unique artworks, book illustrations, posters, and fabric prints. This workshop is designed as an introduction to the medium, suitable for students new to printmaking or for those who are looking to expand beyond linoleum or easy-cut blocks. We will focus on single-color woodcut prints, with instruction on wood preparation, tool use and maintenance, carving techniques, and printing by hand or with a press. Class fee includes one wood block, paper, and access to shared studio supplies.
