Description
Historian Jennifer Yip (葉郁琳)of the National University of Singapore will offer a talk on her latest book, just published by Cambridge University Press: Grains of Conflict: The Struggle for Food in China’s Total War, 1937–1945.
She will speak at the newest building on campus, Levy Hall, located at 930 West Johnson, which is the new home of the Department of History.
Professor Yip is a historian of war, strategy, and the socio-economic effects of war mobilization, with a focus on Republican China.
