Wanner will discuss the linguistic implications of the shift in our conception of the scientist/researcher from someone who "discovers the truth" to someone who “shapes knowledge," emphasizing the use of the passive. A complimentary buffet lunch is provided and is open only to faculty, graduate students and academic staff.
