Description
University Opera's fall production examines issues of the sacred and profane within the context of New York's hedonistic club scene of the 1970s. "Thais" is a cautionary tale of a zealous monk's conversion of an infamous courtesan. It is directed by William Farlow and features a cast of students from the School of Music supported by the UW Symphony directed by James Smith. It is sung in French with projected English surtitles.
