Description
Aminur Rahim shows that the concept of neo-patrimonialism is inadequate to the task of formulating and implementing pro-poor policy in the global south. Instead, the multiplicity and interconnectedness of political and class interests demonstrate how the appropriation of surplus through the commodification of economies created arrays of social interests, and the effect of this on the function of state and society as well as on the relative position of different social classes.
