This conference examines the increasing pressure exerted on the model of the nation state by today’s rapid movement of people and information, focusing on the relationship between language, culture and transnationalism in the scope of Germanic languages. By providing discussion among scholars in the fields of sociolinguistics, social anthropology, social geography, education, cultural studies and literary studies, participants aim to establish a platform for long-term collaborative initiatives.
