Each professor will present a sonnet -- a form short enough for the audience to read and digest on the spot -- and lead a discussion of its literary language and context. The conversation will move from the Renaissance, when the sonnet first emerged, to our own time, concluding with one of Madison's most exciting young poets, Amaud Johnson.
