Description
Kelley Hess, astronomy department. All telescopes work on the same basic principles, yet radio telescopes, for example, look very different, and are found in very different places from optical telescopes. What do the many varieties of telescopes, observatories, and instruments tell us about their scientific goals? And why do astronomers choose sometimes one, then another? Kelley Hess will help us sort out and understand some very different telescopes.
