Description
Jon Beasley Murray, University of British Columbia. From Machu Picchu to Palenque, the Alamo to Cartagena, Potosí to Detroit, the so-called New World is filled with traces of the Old. This talk is concerned with what we have to say about such remnants of the past that continue stubbornly on into the present, as well as with what they have to say about us. A light lunch and beverages will be served.
