UHA and PAT present 'Uncommon Defense'

John Hall will lecture on his breakout text, "Uncommon Defense: Indian Alliances in the Black Hawk War." He will discuss not only why native peoples chose to ally themselves with the very establishment that pushed them from their native lands, but also how the shaped of U.S. history was formed by interactions with indigenous actors who were not naive victims, but political players with their own agendas.
