Description
Quite possibly the only noir set in the 18th century, Reign of Terror is about Charles D'Aubigny's plot to end Maximilien Robespierre's reign of terror. In the hands of Mann and his faithful DP John Alton, Reign of Terror is "an urgent, almost Wellesian film of endless treachery and perpetual night" (J. Hoberman).
