Professor Michael Marmor, a physician-scientist at Stanford University School of Medicine and an expert in retinal disease and retinal physiology, will examine art history through the framework of the biology of vision. He brings his understanding to bear on the creation of art, and how limitations of vision and eye disease may have impacted the work of artists like Monet, Degas, Cassatt and O'Keefe.
