The program brings together noted scholars to examine the contributions of Mary Lou Williams to American music and reflect on the challenges to the future of jazz as a living art form. With Guthrie Ramsey, Jr. (Univ. of Pennsylvania), Sherrie Tucker (Univ. of Kansas), Ted Buehrer (Kenyon College), Farah Griffin (Columbia University) and Tammy Kernodle (Miami Univ.).
