Mellon/White Science and Print Culture Workshop:

This session affords us the opportunity to examine 19th and 20th century titles from the Science and Religion Collection (gift of Professor Numbers) and the Schadewald Collection on Pseudo-Science, as well as early printed books of secrets and treatises on the philosopher's stone from the Duveen Alchemy and Chemistry Collection. Professor Ronald Numbers will speak on some highlights in these collections as a way of introducing us to the print cultures of alternative and occult science.
