								Arbix is a professor of sociology at the University of São Paulo. From 2003-06 he was the president of the Institute for Applied Economic Research, the most important government think tank in Brazil, and general coordinator of the Strategic Unit, an advisory board to the President of the Republic. Co-sponsored by the Madison Committee on Foreign Relations, LACIS and WAGE.
