Cinematheque: Anthony Mann's Westerns

After killing a man for stealing his cattle, Stewart takes his herd to Alaska with the law on his tail. In a mining town, Stewart, with the help of Walter Brennan faces off against a powerful, but evil judge (John McIntire). The Far Country - with its vengeful, conflicted hero, violent action, and beautiful but rugged landscapes - is very much of a piece with the other western collaborations between director Mann and Stewart.
