Description
Farmer’s daughter Tierney tired of the simple life, dreaming of her wealthy and mysterious cousins, the Van Ryns. Van Ryn patriarch (Price) calls her to the mansion, but soon after she arrives, strange things start to happen. After years of churning out scripts, Mankiewicz was finally given a shot behind the camera, and this debut led to a thriving 25-year career as director. Veteran Fox cinematographer Arthur Miller’s work provides a template for many a gothic thriller to come.
