Description
In ethically evaluating animal research, there are three main issues to be confronted: (1) how beneficial, in terms of scientific knowledge or clinical benefits, is animal research compared to alternatives; (2) how harmful is the research to the animals used within it; (3) what is the moral status of the animals used in the research, that is, what kinds of ethical protections are the animals owed?
