Description
Rowe and Fischer present a sampler of songs composed between 1888 and 1924 by Maurice Ravel, George Butterworth, Charles Ives, Hugo Wolf and Louis Adolphe Coerne. Coerne was director of the School of Music from 1910 until he was dismissed by President Van Hise in 1914. His "A Cycle of Love Lyrics," published in 1914, was a setting of texts by William Elery Leonard, professor of English from 1906-44.
