Description
In 2004, terrorists seized a school in Beslan, North Ossetia, and held almost 1200 people, mostly women and children, hostage for three days. After the ordeal ended in a bloody shootout, with 334 people dead, the people of Beslan were left to pick up their lives. In this talk, Manon van de Water discusses how theater and drama were used as a tool to overcome the trauma caused by the terrakt, and became a means to affect the people of Beslan as well as the larger community of North Ossetia.
