Description
A program featuring the jácara, the prototype of flamenco, highlighting the exploits and punishments of the whores, pimps, pickpockets and swindlers of 17th-century Spain. Singing and playing lutes, early guitars, theorbo and percussion, Ensemble Viscera brings the quintessential music of many of Cervantes's most earthy characters to ardent life. Pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m.
