Description
Florinda Gomez de Alquilar is the coordinator of ASIMAM, Asociacion de identidad del pueblo MAM, which is an association of small producers, including more than 100 indigenous women of Mayan descent, who produce textiles and chocolate. Members of ASIMAM support community development, as well as equitable and fair trade on a national level through the promotion of a solidarity economy based on the common good and participation of marginalized communities.
