Cinematheque: Marimbas from Hell / Las marimbas del infierno

The age of the iPod hasn’t been kind to Don Alfonso, a struggling marimba player in Guatemala City. His gigs have dried up, he’s had to fire his band, and now extortionists are after his beloved marimbas. In a last-ditch, long shot stab at the zeitgeist, Don Alfonso teams with his glue-sniffing godson and an aging rocker to form The Marimbas From Hell, the world’s first (and presumably last) band to fuse heavy metal thunder with marimba plinks.
