Ales Brezina is a Czech-born musicologist, composer and arts administrator. He has published widely on 20th century music and is a world authority on the life and works of Bohuslav Martinu. Brezina has been the director of the Bohuslav Martinu Institute in Prague since 1994. He is the program director of the Bohuslav Martinu Festival, as well as a member of the Artistic Board of the Prague Spring International Music Festival and the National Theatre in Prague.
