Description
The story of slum kid Nick Romano (Derek) and his trial for the murder of a cop is told in flashback from the point of view of his defense attorney, Andrew Morton (Bogart). Willard Motley's sprawling 500-plus-page depression-era novel provided the basis for Ray's noir-ish social melodrama.
