					Description

Presented by the Center for Humanities. In 2008, James Schamus learned that his wife, peace activist Nancy Kricorian, had been under surveillance for over a year. It got him thinking: what can we learn from the ‘huge, story-producing industry’ that is Homeland Security? His lecture brings together narrative theory, Alfred Hitchcock, and The Bourne Identity. Schamus is a film historian, professor at Columbia University, an award-winning screenwriter and producer, and CEO of Focus Features.
