Description
This adaptation of a 19th-century farce by Scarpetta offers a perfect cinematic vehicle for Totò's theatrical genius. The comic plays Felice, a writer who lives with his photographer friend, Pasquale. When the son of a Marquis asks the two impoverished artists to pose as aristocrats while he asks for the hand of his beloved Gemma, the situation results in confusion and double crosses, all handled with exquisite comic timing, especially in the legendary spaghetti sequence.
