								Eve Shapiro, assistant professor of sociology at Westfield State University. Shapiro's recent book, “Gender Circuits: Bodies and Identities in a Technological Age” (Routledge 2010) examines whether and how new technologies are changing the gendered lives of cisgender and transgender individuals. This paper examines the complex negotiation of race and racism within a performance community. Co-sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Sexuality Seminar and CAIR at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
