Description
Capoeira is a combination of martial arts, dance and music, originating from African slaves in Brazil during the 16th century. The batizado (literally "baptism") is a long-held tradition in which new members are initiated into the group and many older members receive promotions. Our leaders will introduce our group to the audience and tell them about capoeira's history at the ceremony's beginning, after which attendees will enjoy first-hand exposure to capoeira.
