Presented by Heidi Kletzien, B.A., Research Specialist, Department of Surgery, School of Medicine and Public Health and Allison Schaser, M.S., ABD, Department of Communicative Disorders. Over 18 million adults suffer from dysphagia in the U.S. alone. Thus it is necessary to determine the best practices to rehabilitate the swallow. In order to determine the optimal treatment for dysphagia, we must approach swallowing from both a behavioral and neural viewpoint.
