Description
Ecologists are challenged to understand the effects of a range of environmental perturbations to the Earth system from global phenomena like climatic/atmospheric change to land use transformations. This talk discusses how mathematical techniques apply to investigations of the response of carbon cycling to climatic variability and disturbance on a range of scales using flux observations, chamber studies and remote sensing with particular reference to the National Ecological Observatory Network.
