					Description

John Taylor was a well-trained 18th-century eye surgeon. However, his extravagant style covered a darker reality: he has the dubious distinction of having blinded both Bach and Handel. Dan Albert discusses this fascinating figure in his new book, "Chevalier John Taylor, England's Early Oculist: Pretender or Pioneer?" (written with Sarah Atzen, MLIS). This event is open to all and will be followed by a reception.
