Join Susan Lederer, professor of medical history and bioethics, as she examines the ubiquity of sea water and the urgency of the need for potable water. This talk examines some desalination experiments, especially those conducted during WWII by Nazi doctors and American physiologists, as researchers tried to find effective ways to sustain pilots, sailors, and others lost at sea.
