Preferential Admissions at UW
Equal Opportunity or Unfair Discrimination?

Description
The Center for Equal Opportunity claims that Black and Hispanic students are 1,000 times more likely to be admitted to the UW than white students. Isn’t this unjust racism in reverse? Not according to Dan Hausman of the philosophy department. He argues that preferential admissions diminishes inequalities in opportunity and increases diversity, but it is not a form of reparations or a way of rectifying past injustices.
